Winners Named in the 2013 Idaho Innovation Awards

Winners were announced tonight during the eighth annual Idaho Innovation Awards, presented by Stoel Rives LLP, Kickstand and Idaho Technology Council (ITC) and supported by Idaho TechConnect and Deloitte. Winners and finalists were honored at a special awards presentation during the Idaho Technology Council’s fourth annual Hall of Fame Celebration at the Boise Centre on the Grove.

As the state’s only innovation awards program, the Idaho Innovation Awards recognize innovative accomplishments in four categories. The 2013 Idaho Innovation Award winners are as follows:

Commercialized Innovation of the Year

  • CradlePoint Enterprise Cloud Manager by CradlePoint

Early-Stage Innovation of the Year

  • Switchable Polarity Solvents Forward Osmosis (SPS FO) by Idaho National Laboratory

Innovative Company of the Year

  • Kount

Innovator of the Year

  • David Cohen, FieldSync Mobile Solutions LLC

“This year’s winners represent another wave of remarkable innovative leadership and accomplishment in Idaho,” said Kris Ormseth, Stoel Rives corporate partner and 2013 Idaho Innovation Awards chairman. “The achievements of tonight’s winners and finalists serve as another reminder that Idahoans continue to innovate meaningful change that is driving new products and services here and around the country.”

The nominations were judged by a Selection Committee consisting of more than 30 leaders from Idaho’s business, technology and academic communities. Votes were tallied by accountants at Deloitte.

Following the announcement of the 2013 Idaho Innovation Award winners, Richard Raimondi, Idaho Technology Council chairman announced the induction of Greg Carr and Tim Barber into the ITC “Hall of Fame.” More than 700 individuals from Idaho’s business and academic communities attended the event. The banquet also featured a keynote address from Richard Belluzzo, former president and COO of Microsoft.
